David Lynn Jr Waddell has spent a career on the part of technology work that rarely gets photographed: reading other people's codebases, untangling data that three systems each hold a different version of, and writing the specification that finally lets a stalled project move. Waddell Digital Solutions was founded to offer that work directly, at a fixed price, without the overhead of an agency wrapped around it.

The practice covers three disciplines — software and programming, data processing and systems design, and technical consulting. What connects them is the deliverable: a document precise enough that any competent engineer can pick it up and build, migrate, or remediate from it. No slide decks that say nothing, no findings that amount to "consider modernising", no recommendation without the reasoning attached.

Clients tend to arrive at one of three moments: before a build, when the wrong architecture would be expensive to unwind; in the middle of one, when a second opinion on the code or the schema is worth more than another sprint; or years in, when a system that still works has become too risky to change. Every engagement starts the same way — a scoped conversation, a fixed price, and a stated date.
